Karen Stran

I’m proud to bring 25 years of nonprofit experience to my role as Chief Operating Officer at SRC, which I joined in 2019. My career has focused on social justice and anti-poverty programming. My love for travel and culture, as well as my commitment to nonprofit development, has led me on a diverse career in which I’ve worked, lived, and traveled to multiple countries and states. I did two tours in the Peace Corps, followed by years as an AmeriCorps member and staff. I was also a long-time Red Cross disaster respnose volunteer, and love living and hanging out in downtown Denver, trying out new bars and restaurants.

I hold a BA in English Education from the University of Illinois and an MS in International Development Management from American University in Washington, DC.
